Transforming lives through reconstructive surgery

There is great need for reconstructive plastic surgery in West Africa. We can repair, rebuild and transform the lives of people frequently outcast by society through deformity and disability. High incidences of burns, traffic accidents, conflict, cancers, tropical diseases and congenital conditions such as cleft palate leave bodies damaged and lives destroyed.

Since 1993 the work of this charity has touched the lives of thousands of people in Ghana. Funds raised have built a new hospital, equipped surgical theatres and provided the highly specialist training required for reconstructive and burns surgery.

This section gives you the stories of just a few of the thousands of patients that we have been able to help. They are real people; sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers. So, while illustrating the remarkable results of reconstructive surgery, this section also pays tribute to the enormous courage of these patients, and thanks them for letting us tell their stories.
